S rank Adventurer Deported for Innocent Charges Chapter 9
As it was, Alise was treated to dinner at the Marquis’ house.
”As expected of food from a Marquis’ family. everything is delicious.”
Alise ate her dinner, which was spread out on the table in a pleased manner.
‘Thank you for enjoying it so much,’
Dion’s eyes narrowed and he laughed.
‘So, what are you going to do tomorrow?’
“Yes, I think I’m going to the Guild Royal Capital Headquarters.”
As for Alise, she wanted to earn money early on.
There’s also the reward she received from the Marquis of Dion, but it was only a matter of time before it runs out.
”Well, then, I’ll write a letter of introduction to the Guild from me. That way, things will be easier on you.”
“You sure you want to involved in this?”
“Well, after all, my daughter would have been killed if Lady Alise hadn’t interfered”
“Oh, no, you’re making a big deal out of it. But since you’re doing me a favour, I’ll take it.”
She was sure she would not be able to be of any further service to the Marquis, but she couldn’t disregard the Marquis’ goodwill.
“If you understand that then that’s fine”
“Thank you so much.”
When Alise finished her dinner, she was ushered by one of the mansion attendants into the guest room
“This way, please take the liberty of using it. If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to let me know.”
The attendant bowed neatly and left the place.
‘It’s the kind of room one can’t have alone, isn’t it?
Alise had also grown up in a prominent family there, in case you were wondering, but since joining the military, she had been something of a commoner.
‘Let’s get an early rest,’
Alise yawned loudly, then took off the burgundy coat she was wearing and collapsed onto the bed.
‘This is awfully comfortable to sleep in,’
She eventually let go of her consciousness as the bed was a far cry from the one she had been sleeping in.
The next day, when the sun had fully risen, Alise woke up.
‘Ah. I completely overslept.’
Alise had fallen asleep in her usual clothes, a white blouse and black pants.
On top of that, she threw on her usual burgundy coat and headed down the stairs.
“Oh, good morning. You look like you’ve had a good night’s sleep.’
The Marquis was in the living room, struggling with his papers.
”Yes, thanks to you. I feel refreshed. Are you working in the living room?”
“Yeah, someone’s watching me over here, so I can’t slack off.”
Marquis Dion said with a bitter smile.
”I know how you feel,”
Yeah, thanks. And here is the recommendation letter.
With that, he handed Alise an envelope with the Marquis’ family crest on it.
”Thank you for everything.”
“Don’t be so apologetic. You were the chief of operations, right? Keep your head up.”
Alise tucked the envelope she had received into the inside pocket of her coat.
TN: she was probably treated like sh**t back then huh..
