Is it worth reading?: God of fishing
In a world where humanity lives in suspended space, children undergo a fishing test when they come of age. Those with immaculate talents have the possibility of becoming great fishing masters.
In the endless sea, every life is imbued with a sacred mission. There are fish that can fly, turtles that have absorbed the worldly essence, and whales that can devour the heaven and earth… There are also countless fishers.
Fishing is an art.
There is an ancient saying: If you can’t fish, you might as well be bait.
I only started reading this book recently and I’m at chapter 246. God of fishing is an enjoyable book to read IMHO.
The story is quite interesting, basically a fisherman gets reincarnated into another world into a body of a waste with a missing/dead father. From this point it follows the usual trend of most novels, MC gets this incredible ability/item that makes him special compared to other people. One thing I love about this novel is that it doesn’t really focus on the “system/special ability” that much.
Plot: Plot has a little mystery towards it, I wont go into detail because of spoilers. This is not a mystery novel, however there are things that make you wonder what happened. Since this is a novel about fishing, you can expect a few bits where MC is at sea fishing. This may seem a little boring, however the author finds a way to make it interesting, by having things pop up. Could be conflicts, treasure seeking, new abilities, power ups etc..
Translation Quality: Great.
Romance: There are hints here and there, however nothing major since they are still kids. Nothing to note.
Protagonist: MC is sociable and the way he interacts with people around him is really refreshing compared to those cold protagonists.
Other Interesting things: I think I know more about fishes now, don’t expect everything in this novel to be 100% true about fishes. Its fantasy after all.
Should you read it?: If you’re looking for something to read, not too serious but not too childish then I recommend this. There are deaths in this, MC does kill people. I’d say this book is pretty chill, good action here and there.
There’s more I’d like to put here, however I don’t want to spoil it for the future readers. If you ever read beyond my current chapter and want to add a few things, feel free to comment.
For now I might put this down and read something else, however God of fishing is a novel I’d come back to repeatedly. I enjoy it and hope you do too.
